It Does Not Take Offense,
It was near the end of junior year and Andrew and I were at the beach having a great time hanging out with each other, friends, and family.
“So, Anna you seem really happy with Andrew.” Lilly stated more than asked.
“Yeah, I am,” I said looking at Andrew who was playing in the water with his little brother, “And you seem to really like his friends Chris.” I continued, looking at my best friend.
“I do like him, and guess what?”
“What?”
“He asked me out,” We squealed some and stopped once we saw Andrew and his family, and Chris coming over.
“What are you two squealing about over here?” Andrew asked as he sat down next to me and gave me a quick kiss.
“Nothing, absolutely nothing.” I replied smiling at Andrew. He smiled back at me with his beautiful smile that I never got enough of.
“Anna, will you come build a sand castle with me?” Andrew’s 6 year old brother, Dylan, asked me.
“Sure, let’s go.” I said getting up and taking Dylan’s hand.
A little while later, after Dylan and I had finished our sand castle, and Andrew’s family went home and it was just Lilly, Chris, Andrew, and I, we were sitting around a camp fire telling stories,
“There was this one time Andrew and I were at this party and Andrew wouldn’t stop drinking, this was right after he broke up with his girlfriend of two years, and he made out with practically every girl at the party, when I found him later that night he was screwing some random blonde chick in some guys bedroom. It was the funniest…” Chris stopped talking once he realized no one was laughing with him.
I looked at Andrew and got up and started to walk away towards my car.
“Anna, wait up.” Andrew yelled trying to catch up to me.
“I can’t believe you Andrew.”
“What? That is part of my past, that’s not who I am anymore. I was drunk, and I was upset.”
“I don’t care. You lied to me, you told me you have only been with one girl and that was Lucy, the girl you dated for two years. God, you know how I feel about people who lie to me.” I yelled at him trying to keep my tears back.
“I know and I’m sorry I did, I don’t know why I lied to you, I shouldn’t have, I’m sorry.” Andrew said taking a few steps closer to me. I took a step back every time he took one forward. Andrew stuck his hand out trying to take mine.
“Don’t. You. Dare. Touch. Me. I hate you. I absolutely hate you.” I yelled at him. Andrew looked so hurt as he turned around and walked away. “Oh god Andrew.” I whispered trying to hold my tears back but I couldn’t, so I just let them fall freely, “Oh God Andrew I didn’t mean that,” I said running up to him and turning him to face me. “Andrew, I didn’t mean that at all, I was angry, Oh God, if anything I totally menthe opposite, please tell me I didn’t just screw this up, you are one of the best things that has ever happened to me.”
“What did you just say?” Andrew asked, I continued to cry as I looked at him confused.” Did you just say you meant the opposite of I hate you?” I nodded my head slightly.” Oh god Anna I love you too. I love you so much and I’m so sorry I lied to you.” Andrew said as he grabbed my face and kept kissing me everywhere on my face. “Please stop crying.” After I stopped crying, I gave Andrew a slow romantic kiss.
“I’m sorry I said I hate you.”
“It’s ok, I didn’t think you really meant it.” Andrew said before we shared a long passionate kiss.
