Before the story starts let me tell you about myself.
I grew up in a small town by the name of Hillside in Pennsylvania with my single father and my two brothers. Well, I guess I only grew up with one brother really, and I guess I grew up with my mother too, but now it's just me, my dad and my two brothers. It's weird though, my mom ran off after my younger brother was born, which was when I was 14, and my older brother, William, was 16. You would have thought that after two children she could handle one more, especially since there were three other people to help take care of the baby but, on the contrary, my mother got over whelmed and she ran off to "find herself" when my baby brother, Max, was 2 months old.
When William graduated high school he went to a college just outside of Hillside, but than when I graduated and went to college I wanted to get far far away, so I went to California and only came back for Christmas and when William graduated from college and went to med school, but in my senior year I got a call from William telling me that mom had come back and wanted to be part of our lives again, and that dad was getting sick. William asked me to come home and transfer schools so I could be home for dad, and I did in heartbeat.
I loved my dad and would have done anything for him. So, I moved back home to help take care of him and I finished my last year at the college William went to. I graduated with everyone there, even my mother.
It was only weeks later that my mother died, and my brother married a fellow intern, Emily. My brother asked me to help him with dad by moving in to take care of him. When I had called and told the school that I was to work at that I wouldn’t be able to start till the second semester they told me to be there October 5th or I would loose my job. I told them I would have to call them back with an answer.
Teaching was something I had always wanted to do, since I was in grade school and this was my chance, it was something I felt like I needed to do, but it was also something I was willing to give up for my father. I think that was something William realized and I think that is why he said he would help as much as he could so I wouldn’t have to give up my dream. I think that’s why he said he would hire someone to be there when we couldn’t be there to take care of him, or Max.
I love my family, they are the most important thing in my life and that’s why I did what I did. I hired someone to come take care of my father and Max when I couldn’t be there.
This is where the story begins.
Oh, I forgot. My name is Bella Marks, I'm now 22 and I am the photography teacher at Weldon High School.
